Registration is now open for our next Wacky Wednesday. The workshops being offered include: MAP TAG PART 3, THE ULTIMATE SCAVENGER HUNT, all ages. SPT Drama workshop, K-3, FLYING SPACECRAFT! , all ages and BIRDS IN A TREE, K-3. Please click here for registration forms. Registration ends May 12th. Kindergarten tile glazing days are next week. To make this project happen, I need at least 4 parent volunteer helpers per class on glazing day which are the following dates: WW’s popular annual bike rodeo will be the afternoon of Sunday May 2nd. We need an organizer who will oversee all aspects of the event, including the advance work, recruiting event volunteers and making sure it’s a fun and smooth day. Cascade bike club provides the equipment, ambassadors and helmets to sell. The past organizer (Malva) has all the knowledge and materials and will assist you and hold your hand throughout. She wants to train someone who will inherit this role before she leaves WW this year. This event takes a big effort over a couple of weeks, then it’s done! You should be a good organizer, attentive to detail, and understand the main purpose of the event: to teach bike-safety in a fun way. Contact Malva at bmsj4@msn.com or 782-4206 ASAP! It has just come to our attention that the Golden Acorn/Outstanding Educator Form link has not been working. It now works. Thank you for your patience! Welcome back from a rather wintery spring break! I want to remind you of some important dates to put on your calendar. The new WASL is called the MSP – measure of student progress. Please refrain from scheduling appointments on the following testing days: Plans for the Playground renovation are on display on the wall outside the Nurses office to the side of the office. Please come and take a look at the exciting plans for the work that will be done this summer. Click here to see the plans. Next month we will be posting examples of new play equipment options. The last of our SCRIP gift cards need to be sold. If you have interest in purchasing one or more of these, please contact us at wwscrip@gmail.com. We will deliver the cards via kid mail, through the West Woodland office, or by hand. Please note that we will no longer be selling these on Friday mornings at school. A free six-week series for parents, teachers, and caregivers who want more cooperative, respectful, and joyful relationships with children and youth. The kindergarten art tiles are going to be happening in early May. Look around the halls, lobby and playground of West Woodland and you will find tiles that were designed by our student alumni. It’s time for all of the 2009 – 2010 West Woodland kindergartners and new students to make a tile of their own to be mounted on the school grounds. Be a part of our schools’ history. Please sign-up as soon as possible for Moonpaper Tent. Start date has been changed to April 15th. If we do not have enough students the class will be canceled. |
