STRATEGIC PLAN FOR IMPROVING ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Goal 1:            75% of 4th grade students will passing the 2006 WASL

Strategy 1:        Enhance and improve math content knowledge of curriculum, instruction

and assessment.

 

Goal 2:             To serve students who qualify for advance learning programs at West

Woodland.

Strategy 2:        Implement the plan for the Advanced Learning Option.

 

Goal 3:             Eliminate the achievement gap (low SES) in WASL Reading and Math

Strategy 3:        Focus time and resources using best practices in reading and math areas.

 

Goal 4:             Develop culturally competent teaching staff who provide a culturally

proficient instructional environment for all students.

Strategy 4:        Increase staff cultural awareness and improve culturally proficient

instruction.

 

Goal 5:             Maintain and increase the parent participation.

Strategy 5:        Share information about academic programs and have an open door

policy when partnering with parents in and out of the classroom.
