Book ReviewsEveryone is responsible
for doing at least one book review per month. Each month a different genre will
be assigned and the book must come from that type of book. Books chosen must
be chapter books. Book reviews will be due at the end of each month but may
be turned in earlier. Everyone will need to demonstrate ability to write a
complete, satisfactory book review before being allowed to do more artistic
reviews such as posters, dioramas, mobiles, etc. Not completing a book review
for the month will result in a check on the next progress report. The written form to be
followed is: Title Author Setting Main Characters Summary
(not a retelling of the whole book but one paragraph giving the main
idea and events of the book. This must not be copied from the back of the
book.) Explanation of why this book fits the genre. Evaluation/recommendation (Why did you like or dislike the book, rate it on
a scale of 1-5. What kind of kids would like this book – boys, girls,
everyone? Was it hard or easy reading?) |
