The Stroud Crowd Newsletter > November 27, 2006 What's New in Room 202? I really enjoyed meeting with each of you to talk about your child at parent conferences. Thank you for taking the time to come in. Our class worked hard to memorize the “Thanksgiving Dinner” poem and did a great job reciting it at the Fab Friday assembly last week. I hope they had a chance to say it to you. We enjoyed another gathering with our reading buddies last week. Your child read their turkey story to their buddy, then wrote down their buddy’s story as they dictated it to them. They also enjoyed teaching their buddies how to draw a hand turkey with lots of detail. We began reading mysteries this week and are learning how to look up words in the dictionary. In math we are learning how to use a related fact to figure out special sums (5+7=12 so 50+70=120). In art we created silhouette collages that we will display in the hall along with our writing about ourselves. We have been very busy in room 202! What's the Buzz? The Buzz Group theme for December 4 will be student choice!
