4.30 Principal Report

*Since our last meeting, many things have happened at school:

• Veteran’s Day Assembly
• Conferences
• Teacher observations and goal setting
• JC (Spanish teacher) and Marilyn went to a meeting about Spanish programs
• Instrumental and Choral Music concert
• Book-It assembly
• Grade 2 math/cookie baking activity
• Kindergarten breakfast
• First grade Thanksgiving fest
• Shelter in Place drill

*Looking ahead:

· Jan. 11: Jennifer Geist to address PTA meeting about Spanish. Also Doug Neufield will talk about math.

· Middle school principals to Jan. 30 PTA meeting (tentative)

· Sound Partners with Kindergarten

· Tutors to work with individual students on handwriting

· Revision of Transformation Plan

· Budget in February

· Teachers will be studying Reading Links materials

· Book-It for 4^th/5^th grades

· March 9: Math Night (#2)

· Getting ready for K tours. (Wednesdays in January, Tuesdays in February) Crissy Hilt and Erin Campbell heading that up. Updating the slide show and attending city-wide K fairs also.

*Looping: much discussion on parent web-site.

· 4^th/5^th grade teachers will be discussing the possibility of looping.

· Marilyn will address in newsletter.

4.31 Staff Report

*Great staff celebration at Ovio Bistro in December. Thanks to the Chin family!

4.32 PTA Report

*Recorders for grade 3. We received part of a grant to fund this program.

*Annual fund going well.

4.40 Parent Survey Results

*106 survey were returned.

*Marty is typing up comments.

*Discussion of #’s, results, and a few comments (esp. conferences)

*Will discuss further at next meeting. Will come up with format for summarizing the information.

*Will also talk about changes for further surveys.

4.50 Parent Concerns

*Did not get to.

*Did not get to.
