Hosting
a FUNdraiser for our school has never been easier! No catalogs to pass out,
no doors to knock on, no money to keep track of, no pressure on the kids,
and no more stuff that you don't need! FUNdraising at West Woodland is happening
this school year (a non-auction year) to keep parents at the school connected
by having a good time while still meeting our financial goals for the PTA.
Our PTA at West Woodland pays for so many things that happen in our school.
Did you know that each teacher at WW is given $500.00 a year to spend as
they see fit in the classroom? This money covers things like teaching materials,
art supplies, and field trips. The PTA also funds classroom support in the
upper grades which have large class sizes and it completely funds our technology
and computer lab program which is the best in the city! Our PTA funds instrumental
music, performing arts, the art docent program, playground equipment, our
amazing library, the physical education program and equipment, cultural
assemblies, and environmental education. The PTA also makes scholarships
available to families so that all children can participate in field trips,
drama, wacky wednesday programs, chess club, drama, and choir.
The money
generated by the PTA is extremely important and it is the hope of our
PTA that we raise the necessary funds by while having a good time! If
you would like to host a FUNdraising event, simply join up with some friends
or come to an idea on your own and call or
email me. I will help you pick a date, promote your event in sneaks
and on this web link. I will also help you budget a cost per person for
you event and help you set your financial goal. Then I'll get some flyers
put up for you and will post weekly notes in Sneaks promoting your event!
What you do is plan the party and have a great time!
Some ideas
for FUNdraising are back yard barbecues, arts & crafts classes, dine
out for West Woodland, a delicious dinner for a few couples, an evening
of wine & chocolate, a pig roast, or maybe a series of classes and
lectures!
Be creative,
think outside the box (just keep it legal) and plan an event today! You
can have a big event or a small intimate event. It all puts us closer
to that $5,000.00 goal!
